Actually horrendous, a stain on the masterpiece that is the Lion King. Half the time I'm listen to low quality, forgettable, awful sounding songs. I just watched the film and forgot all the songs minus I always wanted a brother, only because it's basically become a meme.
*spoilers
The plot armour in this film is awful. If this film actually happened, Mufasa would've died in the flood. Then the crocodiles would have definitely eaten him in the time it took for him to get on to land. Then the white lions attack but they put up a pathetic performance, one of them even dies from getting knocked into a log. A 5 year old could survive that. After that, at the elephant stampede, miraculously no one of the main characters die and the main villain decided to send 2 of his about 30 lions. How small does your brain have to be to not take all the lions, since they had no idea the elephant stampede was going to happen. After he sees 2 of his lions die, he just leaves? Surely you would try to get across some other way rather than leaving the only lead you have. Then in the final fight, Mufasa wins obviously, there is no pressure considering how predictable this film is. You always know what's going to happen, even if this weren't a prequel, Disney is never going actually going to use a different plot than "Happily ever after".
The whole film is incredible cringe as well. From the lyrics of the songs that are practically making my ears bleed to the unnatural dialogue.
The story could've been executed so much better. The fact that Scar falls for a lioness he hasn't spoken one word to is so stupid. Then, he gets mad at his brother that he grew up with and did nearly everything with telling the lion the truth? Then he tries to kill mufasa over that?
Cgi isn't the best either. At times the lions look like playdo with no shadows especially in the close ups.
