Outstanding, to those who are not familiar with the “Mission Impossible” Franchise, it is a long running Spy-Action-Thriller Franchise of Series and Movies about a Secret Organization hired by the United States (US) Government to do its hardest, or “Impossible” Assignments. The Movie Franchise starring Tom Cruise started in 1996, so it has been running for more than two Decades now consisting of seven Movies as of this Movie. One main Reason why it has been going for so long for me is because the Stunts, Thrills, Twists and Glamour has been very effective in making very entertaining Movies to watch. The Exotic, Foreign Locations also help a lot, as does the Big Budget which allows for very nice Sets and almost outrageous Stunts. The Formula continues in what is supposed to be this second to the Last Movie of this Franchise. The Plot this time though reminds me a bit of that Series, “Person of Interest” since it involves an Artificial Intelligence (AI), but this one is an “Evil” Version of it.

Outstanding, this is a Suspense-Thriller about a Real-Life Hostage Situation that happened in the Netherlands several Years ago. The Pacing is fast, there a good Number of Twists and the Movie just was able to effectively sustain the suspenseful Aspect of the Event. We also got to see how well-equipped the Netherlands Police is, and how beautiful the iPhone Store that they have there, assuming that is really the Place where it happened. One of the better Movies shown on Netflix this Month of April of 2025.

Outstanding, Netflix starts off April 2025 with a Bang with this outstanding Movie from acclaimed Director Guy Ritchie, about a Private Mercenary Group hired by the Government to track down and retrieve a mysterious Package that was stolen from a Company. This is a Light Comedy-Action-Spy-Thriller set in Contemporary Times. I knew this was going to be a good Movie the Minute Carl Elwes of the “Princess Bride” Movie Fame showed up in the opening Scenes as an important Part of the Team. The Movie basically had an All-Star Cast with Jason Statham in his old Action Star self doing amazing Fight Sequences; Aubrey Plaza in perhaps at her funniest that I have seen her on Movie or Series; Hugh Grant is always entertaining while Josh Hartnett did great in a Comedic Role. Overall, this is just a very entertaining Movie with a fast pace that almost has everything in it: Great Action and Twists, Funny at Times, with excellent Characters and good Twists.

Outstanding, this is basically like the 1982 Movie, “ET” the Extra-Terrestiral”, but instead of Kids, but with old People instead of Kids. It is a Science Fiction Light Comedy-Drama about an Alien Spacecraft that crash landed on the Backyard of an old Man played by the excellent Ben Kingsley and the complications that arose from that Situation. The Movie also tackles “Old People” Issues like Loneliness, Alzheimer’s Disease, etc. Pretty interesting Characters with a good touch of Humor and Quirkiness, one of the better Movies at the start of April 2025.

Outstanding, this is a Supernatural Horror Film set in the 1970s about a Television (TV) Late Night Show who ended up summoning a Demon during their (I assume) was its last Episode. Some interesting Twists, Backstories and Characters make this a very watchable Movie. The Demon that was finally revealed I thought really was unique and the stuff of Nightmares. One of the Must-Watch Movies on Netflix for January 2025.

Outstanding, for me the first great Series on Netflix for the Year 2025, and an Instant Classic, one of their Best Series ever. This is an Action-Adventure-Thriller about a Mother and a Son trying to get to a remote Western Town at a critical time in the West in mid 1800s when the Mormons, the United States (US) Government, the Pioneers and the American Indians are vying for control in an almost Free-for-All in that Area. The Story is Fast Paced with some Interesting Twists and Turns, there is almost no dull Moment in the Series as something always seem to be happening onscreen. The Series truly does seem to capture just how Inhospitable and Dangerous the West was at that time. A Must Watch for me, and a great Way to start off the Year.

Outstanding, this is a Comedy parodying Documentary Movies and Series, and produced by no less than the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) itself who is known for making such Movies and Series. We see more of Dianne Morgan as “Filomena Cunk”, a Documentary Host who is now trying to tackle Philosophy. A lot of Jokes, most of them are pretty good, and the good ones are enough to make this Movie a laugh riot. Not all of the Jokes work, of course, but luckily they are only a few, and I still found this one as pretty hilarious.

Good enough to watch, but definitely not a Classic by Director M. Night Shymalan. This is basically an “End of the World” type of Thriller about a Group of People who trap a Single Gender Family of three in the Woods in the hopes of stopping the End of World. I found the Premise to be a bit unrealistic, why would the Fate of Billions of People be left to the Actions of only a very few? Also the attempts at Humor in the Movie just seemed to fall flat on its Face. Good enough to watch if nothing else is around.

Outstanding, but not for everyone. This is a Psychological Horror Animated Series about a Town that where strange, weird and supernatural Events revolving around the Concept of Spirals slowly start happening. The Animation is beautiful, but it is in Black and White which only adds up to its “Weirdness” Vibe. This is probably as close as one can get to watching a living Nightmare as People started transforming into Things like a Snail, and even ended up being fused together. The Ending does a pretty decent Job of explaining what the Cause of the Events was all about. One of the Best Series with a pretty original Concept you can watch on Netflix right now, but again, not for the Faint-hearted ...
