It’s not meant to be like regular Rick and Morty. There would be no point in making it an anime if that was the case. It takes elements of what we know and redefines them. What used to be a goofy sci-fi dark fantasy now becomes a gripping, esoteric series that leaves you with more questions than answers. It feels like being placed in the middle of a place familiar yet unfamiliar grasping for something known. In a way we share the same situation as Rick and Morty.
