Very disappointing. The plot meanders and the series of short conversations don't hang together coherently.
The hallucinatory episodes are initially mysterious but gradually become irritating as they have little direction and reveal nothing of the real person behind then.
I don't often skim and give up but this novel wasn't worth sticking with. Read one of his other brilliant novels instead.
