The book was alright, but it lacks some realism when it comes to how the investigation units function when facing retaliation or escalating concerns through the proper chain of commands. It’s well written, however I cannot get passed how unbelievably wreck-less the MC is, and not be reprimanded when she’s clearly done things not to code. The partner was docile, slightly dimmed, and easily ran over by his co-partner many times.
The insights to the serial killer were good on his evils at work, but lacked depth into his actual character profile that would have increased intrigue, while providing some sort of clues as to who the perp really was rather than some random name inserted into the storyline at the end.
The overall ending of the story seemed rushed, and did not give a full cool down to the climax of the story while the loose ends and questions were left hanging just so that a cliffhanger could be left.
Overall, decent book to read.
