It’s an amazing season. The stories are compelling, the actings are great. They chose the perfect people to portray every role, especially the main couple this season. Nicola Coughlan stuns as Penelope and Luke Newton shines as Colin. I always love seeing actors who can act out microexpressions, and they both did a wonderful job. I’ve seen Nicola in Derry Girls so I knew she was a great actress, but Luke surprised me this season with his portrayal of Colin. He’s very good with emotional acting and tiny details people might have missed, but will notice when they rewatch the show. Overall, season 3 is arguably the best season of Bridgerton so far. It genuinely made me cry at the end, I’m glad Penelope and Colin found each other. One thing I wished for is more of the main couple. I understand it’s an ensemble show and I do enjoy the side stories as well, but the pacing and the editing made it seem like the main couple was a bit sidelined. There are too many side plots in between scenes of the main couple, sometimes making me forget when the last time I had seen them onscreen was, or what had happened before. I’ve seen others also critiquing that the main couple should have had more screen time. Alas, what is done is done, and I have nothing but praise for Luke and Nicola. They are wonderful.
