I fail to comprehend how this show can be so stellar. Nearly everything in the show thus far has been on point, Visuals are of movie production quality and has an aesthetic sense that is rarely seen in recent science fiction show. The cyberpunk world displayed is rich and stands proudly unique compared to Scott's or Dennis's take on the genre with Blade Runner. The ideas discussed do not shy away contemporary issues like class inequality and carefully avoids being propaganda pieces like the recent Last Jedi. The show has a lot in common with Expanse and Westworld in the production quality and in the writing charm.
Joel Kinnaman brings the character of Takeshi to life instead of being a generic tough action hero. He's quite relatable in many regards and raises the show up a notch in the excellently executed action sequences. This show might do what Breaking Bad did to TV drama and hopefully prompt more networks to bring other unconventional lost sci-fi/cyberpunk gems to life.
