9/10 Unnerving and Creepy. Anticipation was that this would be the scariest movie of the year. It does what most true-crime/detective films like Seven and Silence of the Lambs fail to incorporate, and that’s to tie in elements of the horror genre like Jump Scares, Possesions, Demonic figures etc... What you end up with is a product that is entirely different and unique.
This film makes you believe that something or someone is going to appear in the background at any moment due to its wide angles and centered characters. It builds suspense more than any movie I’ve ever seen, but it capitalizes on it only a few times - though effectively.
I was scared, and I was interested the entire time. The payload at the end could have been bigger but this is a movie you should definitely check out.
