First, I am a gigantic fan of the movie. Huge. So huge it encouraged me to join coach pitched baseball at 8 years old. I hated it. Lol. But will always love the classic movie. That being said, I didn’t know what to expect with this series, but I had to try it. Immediately, I was hooked. The characters and more realistic history of the era made it impossible not to keep watching. Yes, LGBTQ is represented more than phobes would like, but it IS historically something that should be represented and presented. My most favorite aspects was their ability to incorporate some of the most famous lines and actions done in the movie. Basically every other episode pulls something from it. From “there’s no crying in baseball” to Rosie O’Donnell to a backwards catch by the pitcher. And let’s not forget the All American song. I want more. Please give us more!!!
