Triforce Fusion

The ideas behind the big questions of the book are interesting to explore. The characters, actions, and overly verbose, repetitive writing made the book slow and tedious. The author can write sympathetic characters, but not likeable characters. The climax of the book was completely different in tone from the rest of the book and had such heavy, convenient exposition. Plus a large plot hole that just didn't need to happen.

This book is terrible. It reads like bad fan fiction. The narrator is both young and foolish yet has the ability to wisely sum up his own actions and the actions of others. There's strong cognitive dissonance. The author (who I know is the main writer for FF7, so it was a shock at how badly this book is written) should have made a 3rd person narrator to comment on the main characters stupid behavior. All the fan service is so trite too, giving more of the bad fan fiction feeling.

I am floored by this book. The pacing is immaculate. I was not sure about this book, it's not my typical read. I did this as a Story Graph genre challenge. I thought the narrator of the audiobook did a fantastic job. Some of the best narration-acting I've ever listened to. The story is almost dreamlike in it's structure and the author moves between time and space so effortlessly. The humor is wonderful. The heart break is palpable. The main character is a mess with such detailed idiosyncrasies. A perfect, and sad yet heart warming, slice of life book.

I loved Children of Time. Whenever I brach into a different series by this author, I don't like it. There's something magical about children of time that is not present, I find, in his other works. This book was boring. I cared nothing for the characters and the big looming terror was an interesting idea, but it was not interesting enough. I will not read further in the series. I believe he does really well with hard science fiction. The more it becomes sci-fi, the less it works via his writing style.

I really love Kurzgesagt, the YouTube channel created by this author. The author is an edge lord. The information is so great and fascinating, I wish he had hired a ghost writer. Or had an editor that said, "maybe don't be such a try-hard, and also, stop mixing your metaphors." If you can get past the ridiculous writing style, the information is amazing and interesting. I skimmed over a bit of his metaphorical ramblings and made the journey a bit easier on myself. The immune system is wild, and I definitely want to find more information on it!

This anime has become my favorite. It is smartly written and expertly animated. The characters all feel real, even in the unreal setting. The comedy is top notch, and the emotional connection you feel with all the characters is very deep. I truly hope they do a sequel. Until then I wil continue to buy the manga volumes as they release in English!
