As a school boy, I always disliked history as a subject to study.. but loved the historic stories narrated in a most sensational & inspirational way.. it made me engrossed & had a deep impact on my beliefs and thoughts.. thanks to all those influential storytellers.. my Aai, Baba, teachers & some of the great speeches I listened during my childhood.. Though history as a school syllabus subject never excited me.. (because of the exam questions such as 'अमुकेक लढाई कोणत्या साली झाली?' 🤐) but the legends and the stories from historic incidents always made a special place in my heart and became source of direction & motivation. I strongly believe history has to be taught and shared in such a way that it reinforces our true identity, makes us introspect about ourselves, builds the foundation of our ideology & makes us learn important lessons from the mistakes made by our ancestors.. and at the same time it should be presented in an engaging storytelling method. Finally, today I watched the much talked about movie 'Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior'. It was a thrilling, heart touching, inspiring, energizing CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE...!! While making a movie, a director has taken total creative liberty to make it a masterpiece... twisted and turned certain minor historic facts, without hurting the soul of the real story. Indian youth generally being more fascinated towards the stories coming from the west, which are presented in a bombastic way by Hollywood.. we degrade Indian films for being technically mediocre in terms of direction, graphic effects, narration etc.. But 'Tanhaji' is a class apart.. I congratulate the makers of the film and also thank them for taking such a bold step and presenting the story in absolutely dramatic and enticing manner. Today's school & college going youngsters are watching the movie in theatre in big numbers even after one month of the release date.. We must appreciate and encourage bollywood film makers to make such movies.. the narration of the film has to be sensational, dramatic, engaging and thought provoking.. and also it should not spoil the soul of the history and our identity.. then only our youth will be fascinated to get introduced to our ITIHAAS & also they will be guided from it..!!
