Everyone who is rating this movie good is lying to themselves. The time period was done perfectly. The symbolism and music done perfectly. Where Coogler went wrong was the vampires. There was no depth to them. Vampires are vicious and that wasn’t shown. Since he decided to go with vampires there was so much more he could have done. The vampires could have been connected to the twins robbing in Chicago. We could have seen them actually draining people. The cotton fields would have been a perfect blood bath scene. The blood looked faked. Vampires are gory and it was lacking that. If he was going to kill klan members at end it should have been the vampires killing them it would have made more sense than Smoke killing them with gun. He had so many opportunities to do something and it was lacking luster. I believed the hype the clips and this wasn’t his lane. He should have done demons it’s the south the story would have been a lot better.
