Terrible, just terrible.Corporate scum (EA) taking another solid developer, Dice, and just ruining them for their corporate greed. Go watch The Angry Joe Show’s review. 100% agree with him. It’s a real shame as I was really hoping for a great battlefield to bring all my friends and I back in after battlefield bad company 2, 4, and 1. Sigh.. BF franchise is done.
1. No advanced search option for selecting your desired server in all out war. This is ripe for sbmm like COD. It’s also a terrible idea because I can’t filter servers based on ping, number of players, desired map, etc. It also makes it practically impossible to play with more than 3 of your friends. You have 5 or more friends that want to play on a 128 player server, too bad! Also, it won't keep you in your squad and resets after every match. Just a terrible, terrible design choice.
2. No scoreboard. Like why? This makes it hard to determine who is cheating, know how well you’re doing, compare your squad to other squads, figure out players you want to squad up with, etc. The lack of this is a joke.
3. Operators are indistinguishable between teams. They seemed to have put in a lazy workaround of having a blue icon for every ally. I guess this works. Would have preferred unique operators for each faction instead. The specialist system is just EAs way of micro transactioning the sh$t out of this game
4. No real incentive to play as a team/squad. Lone wolf behavior is prioritized as you can customize your load out to the point you have no idea who has what. Battlefield has always been about rewarding squad and team play. The current specialist system de incentivizes this.
5. Very limited in game chat and no in-game voice options. Sigh.. I guess I won’t be making any friends or enjoying some friendly trash talking, much less communicating with my friends on console.
6. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Among the worst are the bullet hit registration which is just terrible as well as uncontrollable weapon bloom/recoil making SMGs outperform virtually all other classes at any range. I am also not a fan of the hovercraft riding up buildings, or jets bouncing off sky scrapers like they're made of rubber. Fortunately, this is fixable.
7. Terrible optimization. I have a high-end rig with a 3080 and I'm not getting great FPS. Optimize your game DICE/EA!!!!
8. Lack of promised destruction. It's completely pathetic that Bad Company 2 had more destruction than this game. Heck, all battlefield games prior to this had more destruction.. This is a key element of Battlefield and it needs to be improved.
While I expect them to fix some of these issues, I am fearful that they won't address a good number of them. If they don't, this game will be dead in the water just like Battlefield 5. Perhaps more so. I for one won't be buying it. The beta and free limited time access was enough for me to form an opinion. Stay away!
