Having known guys that attended Boys State "back in the day", I was interested to see how it has changed in the ensuing years. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Power is still seductive. Morality is fluid for some, restrictive for others, inconvenient for all. I was looking for signs of hope and found them. It's important to remember that even though these are kids, they deserve a voice and our respect. One of the most revealing issues B S brought up, is the boys' discussion of abortion that completely dismissed any acknowledgement of women and their point of view about the issue. None. It appears we are not fully educating our young men to seek out and listen to female voices when forming their own policy stands. Admittedly, that surprised me. Overall, a very enjoyable and enlightening movie.
