Lacks conflict resolution, as the main problem the character faces is never address and solved, really missing out on providing a learning opportunity for the reader.
Hopefully there is a sequal where required help is found and the character finally becomes happy in her own, real, skin.
Also, the book says real life but surely this is fiction. We got confused and just stopped reading. Character illustrations were also very typical, more diversity required.
