Ashoka should have stayed in a galaxy far, far away. The plot is unengaging, the characters fail to evoke any emotion: the first episode felt like a protracted, cliche bore. The background music seemed disconnected and uninspiring. The visuals lack grit and do not produce atmosphere. Disney's animated Star Wars presentations have lately been far superior to the live action shows. If they can't use real actors to good effect, maybe they should stick to cartoons.
