This is a really good film. Is it going to go down as a top 100? Probably not. But Willem Dafoes performance is freaking brilliant. Gorgeous. He is unstoppable. He has found his wheelhouse. I could watch a whole movie with just this character. Amazing! A gay, homophobic, iconoclastic and eccentric detective. And he fills the character with so much you can't miss a drop!

So I was looking forward to watching Emma Thompson! But I was so distracted by her hair (what in the muppet hell? Cockatiel envy?)and then the soundtrack, which was so atonal and erratic, I thought I was going to have a seizure. I had to turn it off.
