Ironheart had a lot of promise, but unfortunately, it feels more like a checklist of modern messaging than a solid Marvel story. Instead of focusing on character depth and strong storytelling, the show leans too heavily into DEI themes in a way that feels forced and unnatural.
I’m all for diversity when it enhances the story — Marvel has done this well before — but here it feels like the focus shifted away from engaging characters and compelling plots. Riri Williams deserved a better, more grounded introduction to really connect with fans.
There were glimpses of good ideas, but they got buried under weak writing and heavy-handed messaging. Disappointing overall.
