Although its final episode aired in 2017, this series is awfully well suited for 2020-2021. The cataclysmic events portrayed are certainly more dire than our pandemic situation - but the parallels are also clear. iLeftovers prescient w.r.t its portrayal of human behaviours in the world we may be living through post-pandemic.
Following the "shock" of 2020 - the proliferation of cults, quasi anarchy, populist movements, authoritarian politics, confused/polarised belief systems and pervasive nihilism depicted in the series translate very well to the current day mid-pandemic situation.
Moving forward, are all going to be seeking a greater sense of purpose after we take a deep breath following the treadmill world we occupied until end of 2019. Thought provoking series - to say the very least.
