Despite its impressive CGI and attention to hair and makeup, 'Damsel' suffers from pacing issues and underdeveloped plotlines. The initial storyline grips the audience, but momentum falters after the princess is thrown into the pit. What could have been a captivating narrative akin to 'Game of Thrones' is condensed into 40 minutes, leaving little room for character growth or intricate storytelling. The potential for multiple episodes exploring the dynamics of the kingdom, the prince's character arc, and the princesses' struggles is evident but sadly unrealized. While the film showcases moments of brilliance, particularly in its visual effects, the overall experience feels rushed and lacks the depth needed to fully engage viewers.
