A love letter to television and films from the 60s. Without any frame of reference to these films you may get lost in the thousands of snippets of homages to these times and that's okay. The film focuses more on the aspect of washed up actors and stuntmen that were relics from the late 50s and early 60s, who struggled to adjust to the new styles and tastes in Hollywood. Tarantino turns down the ultraviolence for the majority of the movie which makes the final moments of the film that much more satisfying. Tarantino has always been made a target by less talented people, and this film will only add to that. But I don't think Tarantino gives much of a damn about it because at the end of the day he knows he made a great movie.
