The main actor in this film is trying his best, but with the film's confusing and lacklustre plot, wooden, confusing writing and lack of mystery/suspense, he's fighting a serious uphill battle. He's clearly a good actor, but up against too much for him to truly shine, which is a pity. The rest of the cast are poor at best.
The writing is as transparent as glass, leaving no mystery or suspense at all in the movie, it's readable as hell. And half of it doesn't make sense. Why, for example, is Mark willing to stay at the house of a man (even a friend) who acts so hostile while weilding an axe? If they used to be best friends, why does Mark not question that Ian seems to barely recognise him. And how does mark not notice that A: There are only three women in the entire area and B: they're all mental? Seriously, just a carcrash of a film. Sorry.
