I must commend this film for its social commentary on the urban decay and disillusionment of the time, and its portrayal of a loneliness and mental illness in the form of a sleep deprived taxi driver, Travis played by Robert Deniro. However the erratic behaviour and inconsistent character development of the characters deserves some criticism. I don't know why this film is considered to be a classic and remotely good for its directing. It barely does a good job at telling the story of Travis properly and certain scenes don't even justify or add anything to plot. For example Scorsesie's cameo, the hotel shootout, failed assasination attempt etc. The ending also makes it unclear whether Travis ends up happy or not.

The film features an excellent performance by Brendan Fraser delivering an emotional and oscar-worthy act, while supporting actors Sadie Sink as the daughter and Hong Chau as Charlies caretaker also do a good job. Additionally the costume and makeup was phenomenally done by Judy Chin, Adrien Morot and Annemarie Bradle. However the movie underdelivers when it comes to storytelling and proper character development. So many important scenes go amiss due to the poorly written plot. Like the most crucial part should've been when Ellie reunites with Charlie and how it happens to get to that point rather without an elaborate or justified basis. Instead of that they include scenes of him fornicating to homosexuals and getting his pizza delivered... and for what? to show he is afraid to go out? Maybe the intent is to humanize morbidly obese individuals but the way the character is written doesn't deserve any sympathy. Charlie is a 600lb gay man who hides in his apartment and violently binge-eats because the love of his life, Alan, died by suicide which drove him to find comfort in food becoming heavy. Even though it's sad, people forget that a lot of self loathing individuals who resort towards addiction have themselves to blame. After abandoning his family, is he entitled to a second chance? Maybe.. but does the film take an upward turn? No, they just show him getting abused by his daughter and wife until his death. And the director's decision of the ending being straight out of a scifi abduction is beyond me. Takes away the entire realistic approach of this movie.

"Had a smile throughout the movie because of Robert Deniro's excellent performance as a sweet old cavalier". This film is a heartwarming and entertaining story that explores the themes of age, work, and friendship. De Niro delivers a charming and nuanced performance as Ben, the wise and experienced intern who brings a fresh perspective to the company. Hathaway also shines as Jules, portraying her character's vulnerability and strength with equal aplomb.

One of the strongest aspects of "Beirut" is its intense atmosphere. The film does a great job of immersing the viewer in the dangerous and volatile world of war-torn Beirut, with its dusty streets, bombed-out buildings, and pervasive sense of unease. The tension builds steadily throughout the film, culminating in a gripping and violent climax. However, I felt that the film's pacing was uneven, with certain stretches feeling slow or overly convoluted. Additionally, while the film's political themes are certainly relevant and thought-provoking, some critics felt that the characters themselves could have been more fully developed and fleshed out.

One of the strongest aspects of the film is the action sequences, which are well-executed and intense. Tom Cruise delivers a solid performance as Jack Reacher, showcasing his action star chops and charisma. The film also benefits from a strong supporting cast, including Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog. However, the film falls short in terms of character development. While Tom Cruise's performance is strong, the character of Jack Reacher is not given much depth or backstory, which may leave some viewers feeling uninvested in the character's journey. Additionally, the film's storyline follows a fairly predictable formula, which may feel stale or uninspired to some viewers. Having said that, the plat was good and inspired a good mystery.

The movie features great directing and dialogue paired with excellent performances by a top cast. It keeps the audience engaged throughout while portraying events spanning over just a day. It gives a truthful and brutally honest representation of people working in financial firms and the commercial sector where they face tough predicaments that decide the future of the entire population. However the movie does get convoluted and confusing since it doesn't explain a lot of it's use of complex financial terms and requires the viewers to be already familiar with the 2008 financial crash.

The films also tackle important issues such as mental health and consent.

The film is well-paced and engaging, with plenty of humor and romantic moments. While some of the plot points may be predictable, the film still manages to be enjoyable and heartwarming. Fans of the book will likely appreciate the faithful adaptation .Even though their was good chemistry from the 2 leads, the rest of the cast don't stand out as much and feel one dimensional maybe due to their poor character development.

"A Nice Girl Like You" is a light-hearted and entertaining film that explores the themes of self-discovery and relationships. Lucy Hale gives a charming performance as Lucy Neal, and her chemistry with Leonidas Gulaptis, who plays her love interest Grant, is believable and heartwarming. Mindy Cohn is also a standout as the quirky and supportive friend, Nessa. The film's humor and lightheartedness may not be for everyone, and some may find the premise of the movie a bit contrived.

The movie itself isn't that great and at times gets very slow and boring. It's a mediocre film for anyone looking to browse through some mindless romantic entertainment.
