I enjoyed reading this book. It opened up a part of American history of which I was not aware. The book covers the valient actions of colored Americans who served in the army and the Navy during the Civil War and gave the last ounce of courage and valor to bring victory of the Federal Forces over the Confederacy. I had not heard or read prior to reading this book of the many men who sacrificed everything they had in war and were awarded the Medal of Honor. the Author does a great job introducing the lives of these great American individuals adn describing their acts of Valor.
