it's a tough read, especially if your translation isn't 10/10. it's also usually reserved for 2nd or 3rd year university courses so if you manage to slough through it without that background then biiiiig props to you! if you are struggling (content wise or the reading itself) but want to try to get through it, see if you can find some lectures on YouTube or from universities themselves. Descartes is popular so there's no shortage of learning material on his writings.
Descartes' was Catholic so he was of the belief that people who didn't believe in God were misguided but he was writing for fellow religious scholars, not to convert layman non-believers so you have to consider that when you're reading.
His arguments use a great deal of circular reasoning: God exists because logic applies to everything but God made everything so He made the laws that He has to abide but He is the law. as a modern reader, you need to be empathetic with Descartes which is hard because it's such a frustrating read and he's quite arrogant in his writing.
