Not sure why those rating it so highly are lying to themselves and others, you'll notice they rave about the atmosphere building, caracter creation, and props/effects usage but nothing about the story itself because it's not exactly there.....
The reviews telling of it being a quick way to fall asleep is surprisingly accurate, go in with an open mind and you'll find yourself waking up to the follow-up Disney page recommending other Staw Wars shows/movies/specials of theirs - it's astonishing how dull it gets (like the lame parts of Mandalorian & Bobo Fett) and stays like that. The story lacks any sensible progression and the characters lack most forms of developement, we end up justfollowing around some random guy (Cassian Adnor) who has no clue what he's doing or why - neither do we - so it's easy to remain confused the whole time, I was forced to give up after the 6th or 7th episode like a bad drawn-out book.
It's not like Star Wars as we know it and that's fine, it doesn't need to be, I see the concenpt as an aspect of the galaxy we've not yet seen but all it is is proof that throwing all the money in the world at a series/movie means nothing if there's no progression or meaning behind it. Sad waste of great actors and incredibly emersive settings when execution renders them all feeling more like 2D cardboard cut-outs :/
