This is a film that hasn’t aged perfectly. After nearly four decades of reboots, remakes, and redos at the Halloween story, this movie has been forgotten among the franchise. However, when this movie released three years after the original, it was regarded as a near perfect sequel. It perfectly encapsulates the style of the first film yet expands the world and atmosphere. The blood and gore effects are much stronger than the original, and we see much more of our killer: Michael Myers. I think it is worth the watch for fans of the horror genre, and I love to watch the original and this back to back.

While it wasn’t exactly the first of its kind, it was the film that SHAPED the slasher genre. A simple yet affective story that sparked an entire franchise. It’s my personal favorite horror film of all time and a must-watch for all people. It’s obvious not everyone will like this film but it’s a great film and an enjoyable watch.
