Since COVID I have begun to read again- and something at the book store told me to put this on my list. I was nervous about the length of the book, but in the end I could have read more. The Goldfinch is the most beautiful book I have ever read. Theo goes through intense pain, yet Tartt has made his experiences poetic. All of the characters felt so real, I would forget that this a world of fiction.
The older I am getting, I am starting to notice how inescapable suffering is in life. Theo spoke to me- how to live in this middle ground to seek the sublime. Painfully melancholic- but indescribably beautiful. This book will stay with me forever.
