I was 11 when I saw the first Star Wars with my two brothers. It was my oldest brother's turn to pick the movie. My younger brother and I did not want to see it. I remember standing in a huge line to see it. Once the movie started, we sat silent, totally mesmerized with the movie. I have seen every one since, within the first week of release.
For me, this final movie was absolutely beautiful. It's always been about the inner struggle of the light and darkness that exists in all. The internal battle to control anger, hate, fear that we all have. The journey has always been a spiritual quest in my view.
I thought that this final phase brought everything together perfectly. Yes, we thought the Emperor was killed in Return of the Jedi. But as we were all informed early, we are gone, we transform into a greater version of who we are.
I don't go to see the movies for effects. I go for the experience. This movie was a beautiful experience for me. It brought original characters together with the new brilliantly.
I loved this movie, probably one of my top 2 favorites. There have been many movie series that followed Star wars, but none have come close to conveying the message like this series.
"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.” – Yoda
