This was a favorite when I was a kid. We watched repeats on a UHF channel so it always wasn't a clear picture, so it still seems a bit odd to see it clearly! The show is well acted and I like how Beaver's troubles always originate in a rather organic way as he mucks up while trying to do the right thing.. I like how Ward is firm but fair. If you watch carefully you can see Ward's father was a hard man, and Ward is committed to being firm but fair, educative not punitive. The chemistry of the boys and parents is really well done. The friends (Eddie the best!) are sources of conflict leading them to a life lesson for everyone. Some of the great ones are Beaver in the soup and Beaver's hair cut.
