Poorly written pile of garbage! I have doubts writers and the director even watched the original. Road House 2024 was nothing more than a heaping shovel full of chaos dumped into 114 minutes of wasted film. Unlike the original It had an unappealing storyline that was mediocre at best. It lacked the connection between the characters and audience. In the original the audience liked the people Dalton befriended and hated the villains. Nearly every likeable character that was disrespected or killed by the villain in the original played a role in Dalton's growing anger throughout the movie. From the old man landlord, to the bouncers, the town people, his girlfriend and then finally his best friends death that unhinged him for good. I read somewhere Road House 2024 received more positive feedback than the original. While that may be true keep in mind we currently live in the instant review world. We have the Internet at our fingertips unlike 1989 when the original came out. IMO, the writers and director did this movie no justice. Don't take my word for it check out the original for yourself if you can get past the dated filmography.
Yeah, I can see Connor McGregor having a future playing cool villains, plus he's likeable enough to play good guys. Unfortunately, I feel there was more focus on trying to sell Connor McGregor or using Connor McGregor to draw ticket sales. Connor is the only character that stood out in this entire film. That's pretty bad considering he's a rookie. Bad for everyone else, but for Connor
