Beautifully written- a history of the Middle East beginning around the early part of the 20th century. It reads like a memoir with lots of historical info in the background as well as pictures. Connections can be made with author’s granddaughter’s book, Looking for Palestine by Najla Said as well as author’s son-in-law’s book, After the Last Sky by Edward J. Said.
