Ultimately a well-written adventure that takes you to the ends of the world and back. D. Axt did a fantastic job weaving in small-town quirks and high-adrenaline combat scenes. As someone who is not former military, the glossary of terms at the beginning of the text was a helpful addition. The technical detail that went into the combat scenes and crude humor makes it obvious that D. Axt did their research on former combat vets (or drew on good personal experience). At times, I found myself uncomfortable and challenged by the characters, but it felt like getting to know someone very different than myself. I would recommend this to anyone sitting at home in isolation right now that wants to go on a top-secret, undercover, journey.
