One of the best. Hannah's attention to detail truly reflects the 1970's including the news of the day, the return of soldiers from Viet Nam, the styles of the era including “hot pants” and the will of the young adults which led them to isolated locations such as Alaska as they searched for freedom.
The descriptions of Alaska made me want to visit and I live in Edmonton, the “Gateway to the North”.
She explores the plight of the abused woman right to the end. She doesn't shrink from the plight of the injured or of those with PTSD.
Well written and well edited. It made me hurry up to give myself more reading time.
