The writing was plodding, the plot movement disjointed (she flys around for 5 minutes and all of a sudden shows up with full armor...?). Stranger Things nailed the 80s sooo much better (and I was in my 20s in the 80s, so I know); this got a few things right, but never captured the feel of the decade. We went from "?" to "meh" to "is it over yet" to "I'm really glad we didn't drop money at the theater for this" (unless it was maybe a Tuesday discount matinee). Unless Jenkins can recapture the energy and gravitas of the 1st WW, I hope she doesn't make a third (especially since Chris Pine will just have to be out of the picture for sure - how many times can one come and go?). I really wanted this to be better than it turned out to be.
