The book is very educative and distinct among other similar scripts of the senseless civil war in Sierra Leone. Gberie took his time to analyse the root courses of the war and it main actors with their selfish hidden political agendas. If anyone read the book with an open mind logically, one will conclude that the whole idea of creating the civil in Sierra Leone was based on personal ego and tribal sentiment or hegemony of the people of the south east of Sierra Leone to control the political space of Sierra Leone not by democratic means but by violence. Today the evidence are still written on the wall as Sierra Leone is in a fail state at the moment.
