Really fun game. Free with no P2W aspects, beyond earning in-game currency to unlock characters. That being said, you can also rent them for really cheap and try them out in singleplayer for free, which I think is pretty fair.
Their servers aren't always good, and the client can be a bit buggy when it comes to the party system and main menu UI. They get a bit of an exception because COVID-19 is probably overloading a lot of game servers right now.
The community can be toxic because it's a competitive game, but there is a mute function for a reason.
The devs are constantly tweaking and monitoring characters to re-balance, and they have good consistent updates. I'm happy with the amount of attention they try and put towards everything in terms of balancing and gameplay.
Overall, it's a really fun game! There are some technical hiccups that can affect my gameplay experience but despite that, I've been playing this game on and off for 4+ years and always come back eventually.
Queueing with randoms can suck a bit, and this game is a lot more fun with friends. You can find people to play with on /r/smite and other communities if you're having bad luck with random people.
