My french teacher forced our class to watch 3 whole episodes of this show and we all hated it! Boring plot, unrealistic themes, and the acting was bad. Like, for example, during the auction scene, they make a fake wikipedia page for him and literally nobody noticed that the dude wasn't real. And the "chase scenes" are boring as hell. Thank god our teacher did the 3 episode rule with us and the show didn't get any more interesting, just got more predictable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Melanie and her work, but this movie was eh. The set was beautiful, and the aesthetics were amazing, but the plot wasn't all that great. Most of the songs were randomly placed and had nothing to do with the plot. (Show and Tell, Strawberry Shortcake, Teacher's Pet, etc) The only songs that advanced the plot were Class Fight, The Principal, Drama Club, Lunchbox Friends, and that's it. I will give credit to Melanie for trying to include important social issues (I justice, trans rights, women's health care), but none of them were ever expanded on. Examples: -A black student refuses to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, saying that "Liberty and Justice for all" is a lie, and is removed from the class. -A teacher is meeting with the principal about her job, and saying that she's transitioning, and that she would like to be called Ms. Harper. She is then misgendered and wrongfully fired. -One of Crybaby's friends, Angelita, gets her first period, and then needs a tampon. They then go to the bathroom to get a tampon from the machine, and there's none. A character then says "I wish tampons were free" None of these issues were ever expanded on in the movie, which was disappointing. I feel like there was too much time spent on music videos in the movie, and they all should've been released separately, or just include a few in the movie. But don't get me wrong K-12 is a 10/10, 5 star album! Give it a listen!

Now, I'm probably not the target audience for this movie (50+), but I thought I'd like this since I love Meet the Parents. The story follows Sebastian trying to convince his father to let him marry his love interest who has a rich family. That's it. No subplot, no plottwists etc. It felt like a glorified Hallmark movie. I laughed once the whole movie, at the scene where the peacock gets cooked in the dinner and that was it. No one under the age of 50 will find this funny. And the worst part is the movie tries to be cool and hip with gen z with references to tiktok and bitcoin. not funny. I thought this movie would be a lot like Die Hart, with Kevin Hart. That was hilarious unlike this trash. And nobody could act in this movie. watch something else.

im disappointed in this show so much. my mom's all time favorite movie is grease and when i told her they were making a prequel series she was so excited! well when the show finally came out, we were disappointed. it made no sense. the show takes place in 1950s, but there's 2023 issues in the show, such as gender equality, lgbtq rights, etc. there's so many interacial couples in the show, which, sure, is normal now, but in the 1950s was frowned upon. all the white characters are treated like morons, and one of the girls wants to be in the t-birds? what? now, im a liberal feminist, but do not include 2023 problems in a show that takes place in the 1950s. let grease rest. my mom was disappointed. i was disappointed. stick with the original movie. let olivia newton-john rest in peace. if she was still here today she would be disappointed. however, the one thing i will give the show is that the acting and singing was good. the actors made SOME good with a god-awful script.
