Best show I have ever watched.
So emotionally moving, by showing characters who will do anything for their fellow spys, (unless their sacrifice will be beneficial to the country) and the horror of betrayal.
Shows how international law is like a lawless area of favours and getting away with anything you can. It is like Deadwood in that way....lawlessness...the Wild West... countries will just do anything....with friends and enemies and buying and selling information, currying favour....
Just the most remarkable show. On a par with The Wire, in that it feels so authentic, like it was written by those in the know. A work of art. Genius.
Some scenes are so brilliant I have watched them a few times
Be prepared for it to raise your bar and ruin your pleasure in watching all the mediocrity out there....
and re another reviewer declaring Jonas ill-equipped - did you not watch the show? He was brilliant and perfect and every interview he did he achieved his objective. In fact, that was exactly what I liked about it: the different talents of each character were utilised, whatever those talents might be, and in whatever physical/human form they came... Jonas was brilliant and up there with one of my favourites. Marina was an ingenue, gentle, softly spoken but underneath with a spine of steel. That was one of the joys of the show, the unexpected hidden character underneath the exterior that could be anything: oh, you present as an overweight pudding, or a young innocent girl? so let's find out what you're really made of....
