I don’t get Duchess. She’s 13, and on the one hand she talks like a Dawson’s Creek character (they spoke like post-graduate students, but were supposed to be high-schoolers, for those who don’t know the show). So she’s not dumb or by a long shot. That fits with her rough life and being forced to grow up too fast. But what 13-year-old walks around calling themselves an “outlaw” ? That would have been more suited to a character around her baby brother’s age. It was cute the first time, then it just got weird.
