Hugh Howey's Wool, and the short story teaser that preceeds it, is really a master class in fast-paced, intense, dense prose. If you enjoyed that book, you will really love the first three episodes of Silo, as well as the final episode of season 1.
The show radically diverts from what was a pretty interesting story, and I think I understand why. The show turns into a who-done-it / chase sequences / character encounters pretty quickly. That's cool, it's cheaper to shoot scenes like that I guess. But if you want to know the real story you need to read the books.
I really loved the set designs and world building, costumes and acting. I appreciate the effort to turn this incredible story into a TV show.
