This game has a learning curve.
You should not jump in to the game with the expectation of winning by going all out.
You will need to use the practice laps.
You will need to swap tires.
You will need to consider how intense you want to race and how much you want to risk. Dirt Rally (first one) had a great set of tutorial videos that introduced players to some good techniques for succeeding in the game. They're missing in this version but they're up on Youtube.
Graphically, this game is gorgeous. It's a bit intensive on ultra settings but looks great in all of its settings. Runs pretty good at those settings on my GTX 1660 as well. Haven't experienced many bugs or crashes during gameplay so I'd say its a well programmed title.
Gameplay wise, when you get over the learning curve (and its not too steep) you will have a lot of fun. This game has challenging tracks and easy tracks. Tracks where you can go all out and tracks that'll make you throw your controller and that's part of the fun!
If you enjoy a racing challenge, this game is for you. The computer times and racers aren't nearly as much of a challenge as making it to the tops of the leaderboards of the world.
I'd recommend a quality monitor as well. It seems that some people have been experiencing lag in this game and that's probably more due to hardware decisions than the game itself.
Have fun.
DON'T CUT.
