One of Bradbury's finest. A beautifully evocative, atmospheric meditation on youth and age, perfectly captured by Ray Bradbury's fantastic, sharp, spare prose... The mood of impending Autumn, and the sense of approaching malice and menace just jumps off the page and grabs you and won't let go.
First read this as a teenager, when it impressed me greatly, fitting in with my teenage angst perfectly...
Re-visiting the book some 40+ years later, I am delighted to discover that I now love and appreciate it even more. Bradbury at his absolute best.
