It's a definite YA, but in this case it helps. This goes back and introduces us to a teenage Bruce Wayne. He's going on 16, and is wanting to get his license so Alfred doesn't have to drive him.
This is a very understandable concept: everyone has had that teenage reach for self-sufficiency.
He finds a wrecked car (they don't say it, but it's perhaps a Dodge Challenger, definitely a MOPAR muscle car) that was his dad's, and decides to rebuild it in time to drive it for his driving exam.
What's interesting here is that you see alot of people before they became who they are. Not only are we going along with a teenage Bruce Wayne, we see teenage versions of Catwoman (Selina Kyle), Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinlan) and Poison Ivy.
It's neet to see where everyone comes from. As you probably guessed, the car he's working on very quickly becomes about the Batmobile.
It's got an inventive way of telling it's story, and it's definitely a smooth story.
As I mentioned before, this could be categorized as YA. Not only is it readable for you, it's something your kid could get into.
