Do not read this book in English if it’s your first language. If you’re learning English, this might actually be an easy book to follow because the story is so basic and the problems might not be as obvious in your culture. The characters are terrible, the drawn out dialogue makes the book 10 times longer than it needs be, the author’s descriptions often employ analogies that the author obviously just made up and they don’t work. The whole thing is painful. Honestly cannot understand how anyone would give this 5 stars, and I’m not just trying to be mean. I don’t leave reviews often. I went looking to see if anyone else noticed how bad the analogies are, how pointless the story is, how poorly and too frequently inspirational quotes are distributed throughout the text, and overall how it seems like a book written poorly by AI. I am certainly not alone. I read every night to help me sleep. Incredibly, this book is so bad I’m out like a light. A month in and I’m only half way through. As beneficial as that should be, what little pages I get through are still too excruciating. It is, simply, a very bad book.
