It was a movie ig. But it js seemed too unbelievable and the main characters did not have their priorities straight which was annoying even when we knew why, similar to the previous movies when a sane couple replaces their dead toddler with a loud high maintenance infant that gets no sunlight. This was fine to me bcz the movies before were somewhat eventful despite the classic silence but this movie js got more unrealistic and uneventful with a mute cat and a rude terminally ill woman that wanted cold pizza.
Some other reviews stated that they pretty much lost hope for the main character and that they couldn’t even root for the other dude bcz we don’t know anything about him besides he was the only person that was genuinely expressed fear besides shouting bcz bffr anybody else would have a panic attack if an ear with teeth and legs was hunting you.
While watching the movie I knew something was missing I just didn’t know what it was but when I read these reviews and looked at the trailer I realized this was supposed to be the beginning… for this movie (and the beginning of the 2nd movie) to be more realistic and reveal more about those aliens I would’ve liked to see some type of news alert on the tv or something about meteors or something (because apparently NASA can detect stuff like that) so you see more than just people dying and explosions and stuff. And wouldn’t meteorologists be conducting experiments or something? Whether it was in a military bunker or something bcz we know they exist.
One more thing. The helicopters telling people to evacuate were stupid asf bcz why would you in a loud chopper with speakers going go in the direction you want citizens to go to knowing the monsters are drawn to sound? Going the opposite way would have drawn most of the creatures far enough and give people more time to move with less anxiety even if the ones closest to the boats were last to hear.
