I personally found the character of charlie annoying as hell. He was so insecure so he traumatizes his son and wife. But after his wife died he acted like everything was better. Maybe he knew she had a lover and was leaving after graduation.

As a former Park ranger (Yosemite and Sequoia) I like to see all the little things they purposely change so they can't be mistaken for real Park ranger Wearing a summer hat with a winter uniform. Not wearing a tie with winter uniform, etc. interestingly the lead is Australian and the head ranger is a New Zealander. By the way all horses are supposed to cordovan colored. Enjoying the scenery.
