Not sure who this movie was meant for. Seasoned F1 fans would cringe at this over-dramatised movie whilst the strange choice of Easter Eggs and appearances would confuse people new to F1. Feels like this movie was trying to appease both, with an unfortunate large dose of Hollywood forced upon you, then ends up appeasing neither and not making for a great racing movie, with odd romance plot lines and brushing off breaking of rules that would be punished within F1. A better choice would have been to cast smaller names, keep it truer to F1 and shorten the movie so there’s not so much filler garbage. Surely the aim was to use this movie as a means to get new fans, but unfortunately this movie does a bad job at relaying what makes F1 great - real rivalries, authentic racing and innovation. Forgettable movie, sadly.
