These books are incredible, on the whole it is just the perfect book to sit and read on a rainy day.
overall very good books. I personally think that the style was slightly confusing and seemed to be written in a bit more on the younger side in terms of the style for YA but interesting themes. To date the only book I've ever cried at the ending of. the 1st and 5th book are the best in my opinion but the 2nd and 4th book just seemed lacking in terms of that pizzazz or spark that really makes it 4 or 5 stars maybe just my inner perfectionist talking but it was just so close to being just a million times better and truly being just so incredible.
Some very minor pacing issues but the best book series I've ever read. The 1st book is truly a literary masterpiece. also the change from metric to imperial in the 3rd book and onwards was quite jarring. I don't mind if it's written in the imperial system but my inner brit was tutting like a bloody madman at it.
Also, unpopular opinion but the movies were auful. I truly disliked the ways they tried to get rid of the problems with the books in the movies. plot holes left right and centre, weird pacing, strange characterisation in parts. I'm not one to nitpick but the telepathy that Thomas, Theresa and Aris shares is a major plot point and kind of needed to be put in.
If you like(d) the hunger games, you will enjoy this book tremendously.
