Disappointing and Morally Bankrupt Viewing
This show encapsulates all of the worst traits in humanity and rewards them. The idea is simple: Work as a team and resist temptations along the way for a reward at the end. The catch? You get rewarded even if you fail.
We started watching this, positive that the few people who were resisting temptation would get the reward, or at least a larger chunk, at the end. That is not what happened. Those who failed got as big a reward as those who made it to the end without giving into temptation.
This show is absolutely VILE!!! It sends a very bad message out to viewers:
*If you are tempted by something, always give in.
*Self-control is equal to self-indulgence.
*Lie
*Steal from others
*Being selfish is a good thing
*Teamwork and others are less important than your personal desires.
*Willpower is irrelevant, giving into to urges at any cost is rewardable *There is no consequence for bad behavior
*Ethics and good values are not necessary
This show has a very bad moral to it, rewarding bad behavior and being indifferent to having good values. There were some genuinely rotten people as the contestants on this show: selfish, spoiled rotten entitled brats. They were rewarded for that behavior. There was even an old woman there, who used peer pressure to try to encourage others to "cross over to the dark side" and give into temptations. I could easily see her peddling drugs, telling her victims "go ahead, take this pill. It's a strength to do drugs". This same group of people who constantly took the temptations, and who got rewarded for exhibiting horrible behavior were cheering and laughing at the reality that they failed, and were spending everybody else's money. What lesson does that teach?
There is a 0% chance I will ever watch this again.
